🎬 Flood Animation Video - Simulated water spread near Koshi Barrage

I recently had the opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of flood animation using ArcMap and ArcScene. This powerful technique allows us to simulate and visualize flood scenarios, providing crucial insights for various sectors:

Data Source

USGS Earth Explorer
(Free DEM Data)

⚠️

Data Quality

Limited Resolution
(Common with free resources)

🎯

Scenario Type

Hypothetical Representation
(Visualization Purpose)

For this project, I used free data downloaded from the USGS Earth Explorer. While the data was invaluable, it was of limited quality, which is often a challenge when working with free resources. Important note: The flood animation created is a representation / hypothetical assumption. It's an excellent tool for visualizing potential scenarios, but not a substitute for detailed, site-specific analysis.

My Learning Journey

This experience underscores the importance of utilizing the resources at our disposal, even if they're not perfect, to learn and grow. A big thank you to the organizations that make such data available for free. Your contributions are greatly appreciated by learners like me and professionals alike!
